Representing WaterAid at the Cardiff University Fresher's Fair

One of the things I've definitely gained from being involved with the Veolia's WaterAId group is being able to engage with people and talk about why the work WaterAid is important.

In the Student Union Hall
This came in good stead on Thursday as I represented WaterAid at the Cardiff University Fresher's Fair. The response from the students was amazing, from people wanting to know more about WaterAid, to people fully aware of the issues WaterAid address and wanting to get involved in fundraising.

There were even some challenging questions from some students about just how effective aid is in developing countries, I could only answer based on what I had seen in Bangladesh, it seemed to convince as we had run out of WaterAid leaflets by the end of the day!

Corbett Challenge 2011

You may have seen some global emails or articles in The Newstream or Link about the Corbett Challenge 2011, well a group of 6 of us from Veolia in Cardiff managed to climb Fan Brycheiniog in the Brecon Beacons.

Myself, Laura, Tony, Elaine, Gareth & Carol at the start.

We managed to raise £630 in sponsorship and it really was a brilliant day, the photos don't do justice to the scenery!

We also teamed up with walkers from Southern Water and Sutton & East Surrey- how about we have even more teams from Veolia in 2012?

Made it to the peak!
